If you purchased a new home in Fulton County last year which acts as your primary residence, don’t forget to apply for your Homestead exemption before April 1st.
A Homestead Exemption can help reduce property taxes by limiting how much your assessed value can increase and provide a partial exemption on the assessed value of your primary home which lowers the amount of property tax you owe. If you do not apply before April 1st you will wait a full year before your application is processed.
Fulton County allows you to conveniently apply for your homestead exemption online. Here is a link to those directions.
